The 243 Win is a fantastic deer cartridge, and Browning’s industry-leading engineering only makes it more effective for bagging whitetail, blacktail and mules. That’s why this Illinois-made ammo belongs in any deer hunter’s pack!
This cartridge features Browning’s own 97 grain Rapid Expansion Matrix Tip projectile. The bullet’s signature tip is made of a special copper/polymer material. The tip fragments on impact, at which point it forces its way down into the wide underlying nose cavity. This forces reliable and deadly terminal expansion to take place over a broad spectrum of impact velocities.
The Matrix Tip makes this round’s bullet highly aerodynamic. The 0.371 G1 BC projectile is able to retain nearly 1,000 ft lbs of whitetail-toppling kinetic energy at ranges up to 395 yards, which is farther than most would even attempt to cover with a 243 rifle.
Browning’s nickel-plated brass cases sure look pretty, but that’s their smallest benefit. Nickel reduces friction to promote more reliable feeding and extraction, and it also protects against the corrosion threatened by rainy and humid environments.
